On Monday October 18th 2004 Martin Carter took delivery of his Lynx type 3. This car is the ONLY Lynx outside Australia and is rear engine drum, but built 29th June.1962. chassis number 113.
Martin bought the car from Graham Brown who lives at CRANK Street, Queensland Australia. who had had the car since 1979. The car was rewarded with the Jack Brabham Trophy for Formula Junior Cars, at the Tribute to Jack Brabham at Eastern Creek, celebrating 30 years since Sir Jacks last World Championship win.The car shared the lap record at Oran Park for a year as well as Wakefield Park and W'bank and Lakeside. The first Lynx racing car built by Lynx Engineering was 20th November 1960. from designs that Peter Wilkins had bought from Ron Tauranac's including jigs/patterns and parts stock from the intended batch of kit RAULTS after Tauanac went to England to join Jack Brabham. 15 cars were made of various types. Peter Wilkins then followed Ron Tauranc to England to work for Jack Brabham. Chassis 112 and 113 are the only Historic Formula Junior cars now. 113 was the last Lynx built.) 112 is owned by Ian Bailey the Chairman of the Australian Formula Junior Association. The last owner of the car, before Martin was Ern Tadgell a crop duster of Toowoomba, Queensland., Australia who had the car until 1965. Martin was the 7th owner
